35. Spec Kit Decomposition and Decision Records
Spec Kit Decomposition and Decision Records requirements from the authoritative Glitchpad Technical Specification.
Spec Kit is mandatory for every feature, renderer, platform capability, architecture amendment, security change, dependency-policy change, brand-system change, and release preparation.
| Artifact | Authority |
|---|---|
.specify/memory/constitution.md | Durable project law and non-negotiable constraints |
docs/glitchpad-technical-specification.md | Latest official release architecture and behavior |
specs/NNN-name/spec.md | User value, scope, requirements, and success criteria for one unreleased change |
plan.md, research.md, data-model.md, contracts/ | Technical decisions and implementation design for the slice |
tasks.md | Ordered, traceable implementation work |
| Analysis and checklists | Cross-artifact consistency, ambiguity, security, and completeness evidence |
| Tests and receipts | Requirement and release evidence |
The required sequence is specify, clarify when material ambiguity exists, plan and research, tasks, analysis, implementation, convergence, and release reconciliation. No implementation may silently settle an architecture question. A decision records date, status, context, selected option, rationale, alternatives, consequences, affected requirements, and superseding decision.
The architecture of record changes only during a release documentation pass. Feature artifacts remain in the repository as historical intent and evidence; they do not override a later released specification.
